Been online since 1989, and found the furry fandom in middle of 1995. Gotten MANY commissions since then!

Used to go by sirkain on here but closed the account. Should of just left it inactive but oh well, lesson learned.

Mostly into furry and similar art, but MLP and other art of cool character designs and styles I also dig. Once in a blue moon I'll try to doodle. Main hobbies are cars, guns, cartoons.

Hope everyone is holding up alright out there! I’ll try to cover the highlights in this before I head to bed:FurTheMore 2024: For me it was fairly calm and chill as the only con related thing I went to was the marketplace/dealers den. The panels I saw weren’t of interest to me this time around, and I only saw a few of the local furs from the groups I used to be a part of. Catching up with their lives and enjoyed that! Enjoyed a few drinks, smoked a nice cigar one night, and was a good mini vacation to refresh and recharge.Health: This has had some good advances, FINALLY. Saw my diabetic specialist, the one I started ot see just short of a year ago who recommended me to use the Constant Glucose Meter (CGM) and an insulin pump to better manage my diabetes, as the way I’ve been using over over 20 years is archaic and not cutting it anymore. All of last year I just could not get the issue resolved on why these two things were not getting covered by my insurance when they said it was supposed to be… THIS time, I had the prescription card info I never received last year, and that seemed to fix the issue.Which means, insurance will now cover my Dexcom G6 CGM I’ve been paying out of pocket for (and using a coupon) to help give me heads up when sugars are high or getting low. AND I can get them to cover the pump. I have the training appointment on the 24th, before I can have a pump pod thing and actually use it. I also see my new PCP on the 21st which I am amped for. FINALLY. Now I can turn this crappy stuff around and have a good year going forward for a long time health wise.Work: so far so good. As of the 1st week of march, a lot of people got moved around to different shifts and days they work. Not a lot work M-F now, I’m being one of the few that still is on 2nd shift. Just doing my best to make it there every day I’m to work and do what I can to fix the things they need me to do, and leave work issues at work.Art: I haven't posted a lot of art lately, and its because I’ve been either working a lot or just had more stuff I had/wanted to focus on. Also because of the new diabetic stuff I will have to pay for, that is going to affect my budget a fair bit… Meaning I HAVE to cut back on how many commissions I get. That is going to SUCK, but having my health in much better manageable shape is far more important. We will see how I can handle the withdrawal haha.Cats: after having the tall cat tree condo thing made and them getting used to it over the past few weeks, they have stopped forcing their way into the raised ceiling space, so I am keeping them. I gave a link in the previous life journal on where ill keep pics and videos of them.. I need to upload to there, oops…Take care, and thanks for reading this far!Posted using PostyBirb

I am doing a little project, more out of curiosity and to get better data for me to work with. Specifically with how much I have spent each year on commissions, and how many commissions did I get per year. As of now I only got the # totals for 2020-2023. PayPal wont go back any further online sadly. I MAY be able to dig through hundreds of PayPal emails I have kept, but not doing that for a while.I’ll paste what I have so far, and keep in mind these totals of cost and # of commissions I got per year do not reflect what I have had done in my various sketchbooks. Maybe 3-5% of what was made in them have made it online so far.2020 commissions total was $3,231.25. total of 252 commissions. $12.8 commissions/mo2021 commission total was $8,593. total of 72 commissions. $119.3 commissions/mo2022 commission total was $9059. Total of 117 commissions. $77.4 commissions/mo2023 commission total was $9328. Total of 83 commissions. $47.3 commissions/mothis is what was posted on FA that year for commissions2006 - 12007 - 72008 - 132009 - 31 (+900$ for Kendall pooltoy, whenever try to total up $ spent that year)2010 - 432011 - 1182012 - 2322013 - 1022014 - 1222015 - 1782016 -2017 -2018 -2019 -The totals of money spent on commissions from 2020-end of 2023 freaked me out. And how many commissions total per year I was getting. I never knew I was spending THAT much money each year on commissions, good grief…I just want to get a better number of commissions I had made, when, and how much I spent each year. I feel I have spent around $75,000 in total from 1995-present, but I’m beginning to wonder if that’s about right, or too low of a $ total now…I’ll post more as I get a sufficient amount of data added. And I will try to not post about this topic too often haha.Posted using PostyBirb

Not a good day Tuesday was. Victor the past month had started to loose a little weight.. but I didn't see how much until last week. breath was smelling really bad, could feel all of his rib cage, etc. was picky on what he would eat. still had plenty of pep and strength and his whole personality.   I decided to schedule a vet appointment to have him examined and his shots all updated. turns out he has severe failing kidneys, which is causing one U.T.I. they noticed.. stress being another factor... the bill shows what i ultimately paid to find out what he had going wrong with him, and what to do to make him feel as comfy as he can until i have him euthanized on Saturday.   I have had victor since the end of may 2011 when he was 12 weeks old, up until now. he is the last of the 4 cats i got in 2011 all around the same time (him, Gizmo, Michelle and Ray). i need another cat (par specifically) sooner than later.. but the cards are currently maxed out because of this visit.   I'm not saying I need an emotional support animal, but that is basically what victor and other cats have been for me most of my life. Id love to have a ragdoll cat but I am having NO luck to find anyone who has them. all the breeders i find online anywhere in VA don't answer calls, emails, or their sites are dead. but if push comes to shove (it will) I'll need to go to dome good rescue shelters to see what pair of cats i can get.   If I am high strung for a while and not that great of moods, this is why. it will pass. but for now I am hurting.Posted using PostyBirb
